Tragic Relief is the story of both the luckiest and unluckiest man in
the world, his many loves, losses, and the mother that is with him
throughout it all. A panel-less comic told in poetic pantomime, Tragic Relief is a
meditation on the themes of sex, love and the "unknowable other".

"Frakes' work explores the complex and changing relationships
we have with the unknown and natural worlds in well-crafted, wordless
stories which stand alone, and yet also build upon each other to show a
greater understanding of our own journeys away from our homes of
origin." Jon Mathewson, PaneltoPanel.net
"Frakes employs a thick, brushy line as a counterbalance to
her spare, mostly silent, storytelling style. It's a striking match: her
thick line gives her stories a visceral feel, while her cartoony design
adds just a touch of the absurd to the proceedings." Rob Clough, http://www.sequart.org
