Reviews:
"Science-fiction could learn to chill-out a little, to get in touch with reality in direct rather than indirect, metaphor-laden ways, and Jan’s Atomic Heart does just that, returning to some of the trippy-smart, fine-art/comics blurring that defined early Heavy Metal and merging it with the naturalism and emotional availability of “comix” minus the coffee and cigarettes sad-sack self-seriousness. One of the best of 2009."
-Are You A Serious Comic Book Reader?
"Jan’s Atomic Heart is both incredibly grounded and mind-blowing in its originality. It’s touching and frightening. Roy has crafted a compelling story that’s relevant and relatable, and if that’s not enough, he brings it to life with inventive designs and a slightly rough style that brings out the humanity even in characters that doubt their own humanity. 10 out of 10."
-Eye on Comics
"Unlike so many other comic book stories that are quickly read and then tossed away, forgotten in a pile, the curious ending of this tale begs the reader to start at the beginning and read it all over again."
